52nd YEAR
Pit Notes from Beck Oil Night at Fremont Speedway

By Andrew Barman and Brian Liskai

Fremont, Ohio (June 29th)-For the first time in 2 years Fremont Speedway was able to get Beck Oil Night in the books but it was a close one. Last season on Beck Oil Night, it rained. This year at the beginning of the year it got rained out. The Fremont Speedway staff rescheduled the Beck Oil Night for June 28th, and they where finally able to get the show complete but not without interesting news from the pits.

-The racing didn't get started until 8:30 due to a rain storm that passed over the track. Good job by all of the track personel and push truck drivers for running the track in so quickly.

-After taking wild rides two weeks ago in the 305 feature event, Bryan Sebetto, Roger Shammo, had new cars, while Andy Shammo's Burkin Trailers crew was able to replace some tubing on the #48 for this past Saturday night. In fact Bryan Sebetto has a new car owner with Jodi Mominee
who will be backing Bryan the rest of the year and hopefully on down the road.

-Fremont Speedway was the first track to see Kenny Jacobs in the Pete Grove #70 car, with former Miller Rigging crew chief Andy Potter turning the wrenches due to the #2 being parked. Jeff Shepard moved into the Denny Ashworth #92, replacing Jacobs, who replaced Jimmy Hawley in the #70. After working the bugs out in the heat, Jacobs and Mark Keegan put on an exciting dual in the B-main. Jacobs started 19th in the feature (inside last row) and battled his way to a 7th place finish.

-Look out dirt truck drivers. Kenny Clark, Sr. is back and he is hungry for a win! Kenny Clark was an outstanding late model driver back in the day. He's been out of racing for about 10 years.

-Attention all interested parties: Dave Gibbs has a dirt truck for sale. It's a fast machine as he has one feature win this season.

-Stop down to the Mike Linder and David Harrison trailers after the races. They have brand new
t-shirts. Racewear out of Pennsylvania did a great job on both shirts.

-Faye Kraylek, wife of 410 rookie Scott Kraylek, just had shoulder surgery. She's a trooper though and was at the track the same week.

-Lowell Glover, Jr., crew member for the 66L 305 team of Ryan Lowe, just got of hospital after heart-related surgery on Friday. Yet another dedicated race fan.

-Would like to wish John and Sue Wisbon a happy 23rd Wedding Anniversary. John is the driver of the #16 Brumeister car, and Sue is an assistant scorer at Fremont. The couple spent their anniversary at the track...and wouldn't have it any other way!

-Also celebrating a wedding anniversary was track promoter Jim and Joann Ford. Also on that day Joann had something else to celebrate, her birthday.

-Fremont Speedway and the Sandusky County Fair Board would like to thank Dee Genzman for donating $200 from the 50/50 that he won last week towards the new restrooms.

-For the first time in the dirt truck history, the 20 minute time limit expired and the feature had to be checkered with two laps remaining - the race was under caution as two trucks were locked together.  Paul Diamond picked up his first career dirt truck win.

- There have been 12 first-time feature winners at Fremont Speedway in 2003 in the 410 sprints, 305 sprints, dirt trucks, USAC sprints, and USAC midgets.
