Rains Hit Fremont During Heat Race Action

By Brian Liskai

FREMONT, Ohio (May 1, 2004) - Threatening skies finally opened up during the first heat of the 410 sprints, forcing the cancellation of the nights racing on Willies Sales and Service Torro Lawn Mower Night at Fremont Speedway.

Before the rain hit, John Ivy, the previous week's feature winner topped the 36-car field in qualifications with a time of 12.160. There was only eight-tenths of a second separating the quick qualifier and the 24th quick timer.

In the heat race when the skies let loose, John Ivy got upside down as did Phil Gressman.

Fremont Speedway will be back in action Saturday, May 8, with the first of four appearances of the Haulmark All Star Circuit of Champions. The 305 sprints will also be on the racing card which is spponsored by Fort Ball Pizza.
