Fremont Increases
June 5 Purses
By Brian Liskai
FREMONT, Ohio (May 29, 2004) - Thanks to sponsorship by Beck Oil and
Willie's Toro Lawn Mower Service, Fremont Speedway will offer a substantially
increased purse for the 410 sprints, 305 sprints and Coors Light Dirt Trucks
on Saturday, June 5. The 410 sprint feature will pay $3,000 to win, while
the 305 sprint A-main will offer a $600 payday and the trucks will run
for $400 to win.
"We have such great sponsors who want to work with us to make racing
not only exciting for the fans, but to help the drivers make a little more
money so they can continue doing what they love to do," said Fremont promoter
Jim Ford. "The June 5 race was to be sponsored by Beck Oil only, but the
folks at Willie's Toro had their night rained out earlier this year and
they still wanted to do something for the fans and drivers, so they agreed
to sign on as an associate sponsor. This will allow us to put more money
into the purse."
"Not only is sponsoring a race night a Fremont Speedway a way to help
the fans and drivers, but companies are finding out it can be a lot of
fun for their employees as well as a great advertisement opportunity,"
said Ford. "Beck Oil always has a cookout for their employees at the race
track during their night. Willies always brings out a display of their
lawn equipment... It's just a great way to get involved in racing and provide
a little fun for the company employees."
Not only with the 410 feature pay $3,000 to win, but it will also pay
$300 to start. The 305 feature will not only see it's top spot increased
to $600, but the A-main will pay $140 to start. The Coors Light Dirt Trucks
will not only run for $400 to win the feature, but the main event for them
will pay $70 to start.
Ford notes more money has been added to payout in all three divisions
for finishing positiosn 11-20.
