Burns Iron &
Metal 305 Invite purse rich at Fremont
By Brian Liskai
FREMONT, Ohio (Aug. 26. 2005) - The 305 sprint division has produced
some of today's great 410 sprint drivers. And this year's crop of drivers
have put on some of the best racing at Fremont Speedway that's been seen
in the division in some time. As a reward, the Burns Iron & Metal 305
Sprint Invitational will offer one of the richest payoffs in the country
for these talented drivers on Sunday, Sept. 4 at "The Track that Action
Built."
The 305 sprints will run a 30-lap A-main for $2,500 to win! The payoff
is: 1. $2,500; 2. $1,100; 3. $800; 4. $600; 5. $450; 6. $400; 7. $375;
8. $350; 9. $325; 10. $300; 11. $290; 12. $280; 13. $270; 14. $260; and
15-22. $250.
"We have seen some very talented racers come out of this division.
Heck, our current 410 sprint point leader Mike Linder started in this division,"
said Fremont Speedway Promoter Jim Ford. "These teams work as hard as anyone
to put on a great show each week and this Burns Iron & Metal Invite
is our way to showcase their great talents."
There will also be plenty of opportunities for drivers to earn extra
money. The Computer Man Dash - which has pitted each week's heat race winners
in a special dash where drivers accumulate points toward a season-ending
$5,000 point fund - will run four different dashes with 16 drivers. First
in the dashes will pay $50, with $30 for second and third through fifth,
$20.
The Computer Man Dash formats are as follows:
Dash 1. "Ralph W. Peter M.D." - Top 4 in current Computer
Man Dash points, who
are not in Dash #3 or #4. Line up by current Computer Man dash points
with a 4 car
inversion. (lowest in points start up front)
Dash 2. "Borer Mirror & Glass" - Top 4 in Fremont Speedway points
standings who
are not in Dash #1, #3 or #4. Line up by current Fremont points
with a 4 car inversion. (lowest in points
start up front)
Dash 3. "Gressman Power Sports" - 4 or 5 heat winners. Line up by heat
race - Heat 1 winner on pole, heat 2 starts 2nd etc.
Dash 4. "Fremont Floor Covering Outlet" - for 4 fastest qualifiers
who were not heat winners. Line up by times with a 4 car inversion.
Also full points WILL be awarded towards the Computer Man $5,000 Dash
Championships, including passing points.
Also, quick time award sponsored by "The Stone Street Tavern"
will be $150 (one lap qualifying).
There will be a $300 Don Eckhardt Memorial Hard Charger Award from
KOT Trucking for the driver who passes the most cars in the A-main.
This race, which is also sponsored by Progress Plastic Products of
Bellevue, Ohio, and KS Sales and Service of Rollersville, Ohio, is only
open to 305 sprint drivers. Fremont Speedway rules apply. Aluminum wheels
are okay for this race only.
In addition to the 305 sprints, the Coors Light Dirt Trucks, UUI limited
late models and school buses will be in action.
Gates will open on this Labor Day weekend show at 4:30 p.m. with qualifying
at 6:15 p.m. and racing at 7:30 p.m. For more information call the track
