Chicken (and sprints)
rule Saturday at Fremont
By Brian Liskai
FREMONT, Ohio (Wednesday, May 17, 2006) - What do chickens and sprint
cars have in common?
Both have wings and both are a bargain at Fremont Speedway Saturday,
May 20. And, there will be plenty of both!
Roots Poultry will sponsor the third annual Sprints On Dirt 360/305
Sprint Challenge which has drawn big fields. Besides the combined 360 and
305 sprints, the winged 410 sprints are also on the program card.
Also, fans should bring their appetites, as the famous Roots Shredded
Chicken Sandwiches will only be $1 while they last!
The SOD verses 305 sprint challenge is knotted up, with the tough 305
sprints taking the opening round when Brian Smith bested 84 combined SOD
360 sprints and 305 sprints. Last year, the 360 sprints took revenge as
Tim Hunter bested the combined 69 car field.
Gates will open at 4:30 p.m. with racing slated for 7:30 p.m. For more
