FREMONT, Ohio (Sunday, May 20, 2007) -
What tire to pick? How do I adjust
the engine and car?
Those are the main questions teams in the
Fort Ball Pizza Palace 410 Sprints
will be asking at Fremont Speedway Saturday,
May 26.
"In the 1960s and 1970s, special races
at Fremont Speedway used to feature
50, 75 and even 100 lap main events. To
celebrate our 56th year of racing,
we want to rekindle that spirit with the
50-lap challenge," said Fremont
Speedway Promoter Jim Ford.
KOT Trucking and Crown Battery will present
the 50-Lap Challenge I, paying
the winner $5,000! Not only will the feature
event by 50-laps, but it offers
an increased payoff of:: $5,000, 2500,
1700, 1400, 1300, 1200, 1150 ,1100
,1050 ,1000 ,900 ,800 ,700 ,600 ,500 ,450
,400 ,400 ,400 ,400.
Many older race fans can remember the special
races like the Australian
Pursuit. Well, on May 26, that race will
return to "The Track That Action
Built for the Don Eckhardt Memorial Australian
Pursuit. The race will
feature the traditional single file start
with the "if you're passed you're
out" format.
The Fremont Federal Credit Union 305 Sprints
and Fremont Fence Dirt Trucks
are also on the racing card. Thanks to
associate sponsorship from Excuse's
Lounge of Sandusky, all of the trucks
will run a feature Saturday, May 26,
as they will be split into two complete
fields - those in 1st, 3rd, 5th,
etc. in the points will run in one feature,
even in points in another.
And for the kids. the Tackle Box II will
give away 10 bikes for those
youngsters 10 and under!
Admission for Saturday, May 26 is $17 for
adults; $15 for senior citizens
and teens ages 11-16 will get in for $9
(10 and under free as always).
