| 'Deal
or No Deal' comes to Fremont Speedway
By Brian Liskai
FREMONT, Ohio (Saturday, July 14, 2007)
- Race drivers have a lot to
contemplate on race night. What tire to
run, what set-up to put under the
car, etc. Now the racers in the Fort Ball
Pizza Palace 410 Sprint division
at Fremont Speedway have one more decision
to make...."Deal or No Deal."
Over the next three weeks of racing at
"The Track That Action Built," -
Saturday, July 21 (Beck Oil Night), Saturday,
July 28 (Custom Chrome Plating
Night) and Saturday Aug. 4 (Wilhelm Auto
Parts Night), the driver scheduled
to start on the pole of the feature, has
to decide "Deal or No Deal." If the
pole-sitter takes the "Deal," he would
start the feature event in the 13th
position. If he goes on to win the feature,
he would take home a $2,500
bonus for a $5,000 payday! Should the
pole-sitter opt for "No Deal," then
the option goes to the outside front row
starter. Same option...go from 2nd
to a 13th starting spot with the chance
to win an extra $2,500!
"There's a chance over the next four weeks
for a feature winner to take home
$5,000," said Fremont Speedway Promoter
Jim Ford, noting the Aug. 11 show is
the KOT Trucking/Crown Battery 50-lap
Challenge II, which pays the winner
$5,000.
"This should add a lot of spice to the
night's racing. Coming from 13th to
the front isn't impossible. Just a couple
weeks ago John Ivy drove from 14th
to second and had a shot at winning,"
Ford noted.
The "Deal or No Deal" challenge begins
Saturday, July 21 for the 410
sprints. Also racing that night will be
the Fremont Federal Credit Union 305
Sprints and the Fremont Fence Dirt Trucks.
