FREMONT, Ohio - Rain, rain
go away don't come back on any Friday or
Saturday!
Winter hopefully made its
last hurrah this weekend, with colder temperatures
and rain, snow and sleet,
prompting the cancellation of the "test and tune"
day planned at Fremont Speedway
Sunday, April 13.
"We'll just have to work
hard this week to make sure we're ready to provide
the fans and the race teams
with a fun, entertaining night of racing when we
kick off the 2008 season
on Saturday, April 19," said Fremont Speedway
Promoter Rich Farmer. "Andy
(James, co-promoter) has been out working on the
track all week and it was
ready to go. We're excited about the racing and
fun that we'll have this
year. Now if we could just get Mother Nature to
cooperate and no more rain
on Fridays for Attica and Saturdays for Fremont."
"The Track That Action Built"
- located in the historic Sandusky County
Fairgrounds at the corner
of Rawson Ave. and North Street - opens for its
57th season of mud-slinging
excitement on Pepsi Night, April 19. The
entertainment features the
fire-breathing winged Fort Ball Pizza Palace 410
Sprints, the side-by-side
action of the Fremont Federal Credit Union 305
Sprints; and the door-banging
fun of the Fremont Fence Dirt Trucks. Gates
will open at 4 p.m. and
racing action heats up at 7 p.m. Tickets are still
$12 for adults; $10 for
senior citizens; $6 for teens 11-16; and children 10
and under are free.
