04/30/2001:
FREMONT, Oh. - Cortney Rapp was listed in serious but stable condition as of Monday afternoon at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo after being involved in a crash in her sprint car at Fremont Speedway Saturday, April 28. According to Rapp's father, Ed Kennedy, she was being treated for head trama.
Rapp's sprint car veered into the turn two wall during the first set of hot laps for the 305 sprint division. The right front of her sprinter struck the stray bales in front of the concrete wall and spun around. Rapp was knocked unconscious. After rescue workers carefully removed her from the car, she regained consciousness and was talking with them. Rapp was transported by ambulance to Fremont Memorial Hospital and was taken by helicopter to St. Vincent's.
Those wishing to send cards and letters of encouragement to Rapp can do so by writing to: Cortney Rapp, c/o Ed Kennedy 1265 Sanduskay Co. Rd. 238, Fremont, Oh. 43420.
