FREMONT, Oh. - Besides the All Star Circuit of Champions racing at Fremont Speedway Saturday, June 9, the popular 305 sprints and dirt trucks were in action. Combined with the 56 All Star sprints, the 305 sprints and dirt trucks helped fill the pits with over 120 race cars/trucks.
Fremont's Bobby Foster scored his first win of the 2001 season and his 10th career victory at "The Track That Action Built" in the 305 sprint feature. Foster could gain little ground in the point standings though, as defending track champion and four-time feature winner in 2001 Bryan Scott, finished second.
Behind Foster and Scott were Castalia, Ohio's Matt Karbler, Gibsonburg, Ohio's Roger Shammo and Fremont's Dustin Keegan.
Heat wins went to Karbler, Scott Kraylek, Chris Lang and Foster. Bob Dawson won the B-Main.
Defending track champion Danny Roepke picked up his third straight dirt truck feature win of the season. It marked his eighth career feature win at Fremont.
Jeff Dougherty was second followed by Steve Sabo, Jay Boyd and Bobby Davis.
Truck heat wins went to Brian Sebetto, Boyd, Davis and Sabo. Bruce Beard picked up the win in the B-Main.
Fremont Speedway continues to celebrate its 50th anniversary on Saturday, June 16 with Pepsi night featuring the 410 sprints, 305 sprints and dirt trucks. Gates open at 4:30 p.m. with racing scheduled to get underway at 7:30 p.m.
