FREMONT, Oh. (July 24, 2001) - Mother Nature brought some much needed rain to the area Saturday, July 21, and brought about the third rainout of the 2001 season at Fremont Speedway. The Track That Action Built will be back in action this Saturday, July 28 with the Baumann Automotive Group Night.

The area automotive dealer has helped up the purse for the 410 sprints to pay $3,000 to win the 30-lap A-Main Saturday. The 305 sprints and dirt trucks will also be in action.

"The Baumann Automotive Group have been a huge supporter of racing at Fremont Speedway. Besides sponsoring this Saturday's night of racing, they provide the track with a beautiful pace truck and they are the big sponsor of the 305 sprint invitational (on Sept. 2, paying the 305 sprint feature winner the unheard-of $2,100)," said Jim Ford, Fremont Speedway promoter.

The 50th season of Fremont Speedway continues on Aug. 4 with Beck Oil night with all three divisions.

Fremont Speedway will celebrate its 50th anniversary in a big way with back to back nights of racing on Friday, Aug. 10 and Saturday, Aug. 11. Friday night's show is sponsored by Schiets Motors/Honda with all three divisions in action. On Saturday, Style Crest of Fremont will sponsor the 50th anniversary race featuring a 50 lap feature for the 410 sprints, paying the winner $5,000 ($500 to start!). The 305 sprints and dirt trucks will also be in action that night.

The gates open at Fremont Speedway every race day at 4:30 p.m. with the first race scheduled to roll at 7:30 p.m. Call the speedway office at 419-862-2206 for more information.
