A night for seconds at Fremont Speedway

Story by: Brian Liskai

FREMONT, Oh. (July 28, 2001) - It was a night for seconds at Fremont Speedway Saturday for the Baumann Automotive Group Night. Fremont's John Ivy, Fostoria, Ohio's Scott Kraylek and Fremont's Bobby Davis each scored their second feature wins of the season in the 410 sprints, 305 sprints and dirt trucks respectively.

Ivy lead all 30 laps from his outside front row starting spot. He sliced his way through lapped traffic masterfully to take the $3,000 first place money over Alvin Roepke of Elmore, Ohio, who started third; Millersburg, Ohio's Rob Chaney, who started eighth due to setting quick time in qualifications; David Harrison, who started sixth, and Fremont's Jody Keegan.

"The track was fast and a little rough tonight, I really had to work and pay attention," said Ivy next to his Sid Eickelberry #20. "This is a new car...we tore are other one up during Speedweek...we're getting it figured out."

"When you get into lapped traffic and their racing...all you can do is go for it and hope they stay where they're at," said Ivy.

Heat wins went to Ivy, Lindsay, Ohio's Bill Shaw, and Clyde, Ohio's Roger Campbell Jr. Mike Linder came back from a heat race flip to win the B-Main over his brother-in-law Jon Finsel.

In the 305 sprints, Scott Kraylek continued his hot ways, scoring his second straight feature win of the season at "The Track That Action Built." Kraylek has now won five of the last six feature events he has raced.

Kraylek led all 25 laps from his pole starting position to take the win over Attica, Ohio's Brandon Martin, who started sixth; Fremont's Bobby Foster who started seventh; Bucyrus, Ohio's Brock Mayes, who started fifth; and Fremont's Shawn Chaney.

Heat wins went to Bellevue, Ohio's Keith Whaley; Foster and Fremont's Dustin Keegan. Jamie Miller of Fostoria, Ohio, won the B-Main.

In the dirt truck main, Bobby Davis roared past the field from his seventh starting position to pick up the win over Steve Sabo, who started 10th; John Rhoads, who started fourth; Jeff Dougherty, who started fifth; and Danny Roepke, who started 16th.

Picking up truck heat wins were Gregg Summit, Brian Sebetto and Davis. Roepke won the B-Main.
