BELLEVUE, Ohio – With several consecutive weeks of setbacks on the dirt tracks of northwest Ohio, Cap Henry is looking to rebound for the final stages of the 2015 season. The first day of August started the unfortunate streak off with a main event incident at Fremont Speedway that forced Henry to the rear of the field, though he was able to power back to tenth by the conclusion.

The following weekend, Attica Raceway Park’s final Fremont/Attica Sprint Title race of the season was cut short for the Genzman team, when engine problems arose with 21 of 30 laps complete in the main event and forced Henry to the pit area. Another troublesome night was to come just 24 hours later at Fremont. The FAST Series finale slated Henry to start eighth in the feature. Making progress toward the front has become the usual for the 25-year-old; he took over the fifth position on lap 12 and was working for more when he was collected in an incident on lap 24 that ended his night once again, and shut down any hope he had of still collecting the FAST championship.

In the end, Henry wound up third in FAST points, 119 points back of champion Byron Reed, and 46 points behind second-place Craig Mintz, who came charging at the end of the season and capitalized on the troubles Henry encountered.

Attica and Fremont both took 410 sprints off the schedule for the following weekend as a courtesy to the Knoxville Nationals. Henry was unable to match up with a team competing in the biggest sprint car race of the year, but went kart racing instead and managed three top tens in three races over the weekend at Fremont Raceway Park and Little Eldora Speedway.

Primed for another go in the sprint car at Attica on August 21, Henry began heat one from the pole position and carried the lead for five laps before more mechanical issues forced him to retire for the night. Repairs would not be complete in time for the All Star Circuit of Champions event at Findlay, Ohio’s Millstream Speedway on Sunday night, so Henry and Coomer Motorsports, from Versailles, Ohio, aligned to compete in the race. Ultimately, rain washed away the show just after Henry recorded his qualifying lap of 15.140 seconds.

The Coomer team and Henry have since agreed to run select races with their Aesthetic Coating Armor Coat No. 21 machine, beginning with the Ohio Valley Sprint Car Association event at Atomic Speedway on August 29. Currently, the tentative plan is for Henry to continue racing the Genzman No. 53 for the remainder of the Attica and Fremont races this season, where he sits fourth and second in points, respectively, while piloting Bill and Leslie Coomer’s car when the schedule allows.

Henry would like to thank Level Performance, J&J Auto Racing, OC Shocks, FK Rod Ends, Simpson Race Products, Keizer Wheels, Wings Unlimited, HMS Speedways & Hobbies, Handy Grafix, and Kear's Speed Shop as well as his family, the Genzman team, and all of his great fans for their continued support.

Henry is next scheduled to compete on August 28 at Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio in the Genzman Racing Enterprises No. 53 410ci winged sprint entry, and on August 29 at Atomic Speedway in Chillicothe, Ohio in the Coomer Motorsports No. 21 410ci winged sprint entry.
