Excitement Returns to Fremont Speedway Saturday April 16

The snow is gone, the temperatures are rising. That can only mean it’s race season in Ohio and Fremont Speedway will swing open the gates on Saturday, April 16.

Not only is the opening night for “The Track That Action Built,” but it is the first race for the Kistler Racing Products FAST Championship Series Presented by KS Sales and Service. FAST is a separate point fund from that of Fremont Speedway and Attica Raceway Park and pays the champion $10,000 at season’s end.

The 2016 racing season will mark the 65th anniversary of Fremont Speedway and the eighth year for the FAST Championship Series.

Monclova, Ohio’s Byron Reed will seek to defend his Fort Ball Pizza Palace 410 Sprint title. Reed has six titles at Fremont and owns three FAST championships.

Fremont, Ohio’s Bobby Clark will be looking to score another title in the Fremont Federal Credit Union 305 Sprints as will Bowling Green, Ohio’s Dustin Sautter in the McCullough Industries 602 Late Models and Fostoria, Ohio’s Kent Brewer in the Burmeister Trophy Dirt Trucks.

Gates will open at 4 p.m. on Level Performance/Gressman Powersports Night with racing underway at 7 p.m. It is Fan with a Can Night where fans are asked to bring a canned good to the track to benefit the Liberty Center of Sandusky County, a homeless shelter. Those bringing canned goods will receive $2 off their general admission ticket price.

Tickets are $14 for adults; $12 for senior citizens; $8 for teens ages 11-16; with children 10 and under getting in free. Pit passes are $30.

Fremont Speedway is located just south of Ohio Turnpike Exit 91 in the Sandusky County Fairgrounds.
