Inside Line Promotions – FREMONT, Ohio (May 9, 2018) – Chris Andrews looked to be on his way to a pair of top-five finishes in All Pro Aluminum Cylinder Heads FAST 410 Championship Series presented by Ohio Logistics action last weekend before a loose fuel nozzle ended his run on Saturday at Fremont Speedway.

The weekend began on Friday at Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio, where he is the defending 410ci sprint car track champion. He qualified third fastest overall and placed third in his heat race, making him eligible for the redraw for the 30-lap A Main.

“We started fifth and battled with cars the entire 30 laps,” he said. “These guys that race Attica and Fremont weekly don’t roll over. They fight for every position every lap. It’s as tough a group of weekly racers as you will find anywhere.”

Andrews scored a fourth-place finish to earn valuable FAST Series points heading into the following night of racing at Fremont Speedway, where he scored a runner-up result two weeks prior.

Once again, Andrews had a great qualifying effort, placing him fourth overall. He started fourth in his heat race and battled with defending FAST Series champion D.J. Foos throughout the race before finishing fourth and missing the inversion for the feature by one position. That started Andrews on the outside of the fifth row in the main event.

“We had the car too tight in the heat and the feature,” he said. “Then a fuel nozzle fell off and I had to pull in, but there were guys that started behind me that finished fifth, sixth and seventh so it’s frustrating knowing we could have had another solid run.”

Andrews, who was credited with a 19th-place finish, will travel to Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio, this Saturday when the FAST Series competes there for the first time.

“We ran there a couple of years ago late in the year and did pretty well,” he said. “We just have to concentrate on each week making ourselves better by seeing what our mistakes are and fixing them.”
