Inside Line Promotions – FREMONT, Ohio (July 3, 2018) – The 700-pound gorilla is off the back of Chris Andrews after he put the Burmeister Racing machine in Victory Lane last Saturday at Fremont Speedway to net his first win of the season.

“Finally everything came together and nothing broke,” he said. “We continued our great qualifying effort, got a good heat race run and put ourselves on the pole of the feature to give us a shot. This car has been great.”

Andrews fell to second at the initial waving of the green flag, but he took the lead on Lap 2 and then held off a charging Tyler Gunn the last five laps for the victory. The strong result put him solidly in fourth place in the All Pro Aluminum Cylinder Heads FAST 410 Championship Series Presented by Ohio Logistics championship standings.

“Our car faded a little on top about the middle of the race and I went to the bottom,” Andrews said. “I normally don’t like to run the bottom so I just tried to make the best laps I could. I could hear Tyler a couple of times and just had to concentrate on hitting my marks and keeping the car straight.

“It has gotten a lot tougher to win these deals. Before you only had to worry about four or five cars and now these younger guys have gotten a lot better; you have to worry about 15 cars every night.”

Andrews started the weekend on Friday at Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio, with the All Pro Aluminum Cylinder Heads FAST 410 Championship Series Presented by Ohio Logistics. He turned the quickest lap in qualifying, but a blown power steering line in his heat race put him on the tail of the B Main.

“We have been great all year qualifying,” he said. “I don’t really know what it is other than a lot of guys get nervous qualifying and I stay pretty calm. But that power steering line issue put us behind the eight ball. The car was great in the B Main and I got to fourth. We started on the tail of the A Main and salvaged a 10th-place finish.”

Next up, Andrews will compete with the FAST Series on Tuesday at Waynesfield Raceway Park in Waynesfield, Ohio.

“We were there with this new car for Speedweek and we made the dash, but unfortunately we had an engine issue in the feature,” he said. “I like that track and we are heading there with a ton of confidence.”

“The Burmeisters have a great business going and can build almost any trophy, plaque or special award you need,” Andrews said. “They have also made me a part of their family and I can’t thank them enough for all they have done for my racing career.”
