Inside Line Promotions – WEEDSPORT, N.Y. (July 4, 2018) – Joe Trenca enjoyed his first time tackling All Pro Aluminum Cylinder Heads FAST 410 Championship Series presented by Ohio Logistics competition last weekend in Ohio.

The Mucci Motorsports driver competed at Attica Raceway Park in Attica on Friday before venturing to Fremont Speedway in Fremont on Saturday.

“They were both very, very cool tracks,” he said. “The hospitality we got was tremendous. Everyone was very nice and thankful we drove there. We’ll definitely be back in the future.”

Trenca qualified sixth quickest in his group at Attica Raceway Park. He then finished where he started in both a heat race – sixth – and B Main – seventh.

“Our hot laps was our time trials and we missed the gearing having never been there,” he said. “That put us behind from the start and that’s tough to overcome at a new track with the level of competition that races in Ohio.”

Saturday went better for Trenca at Fremont Speedway, where he timed in 11th quickest overall and placed third in a heat race to make the feature redraw. He pulled the No. 8 to start the A Main on the outside of the fourth row.

“We time trialed better and raced better in the heat race, but we struggled a bit in the feature,” he said. “Some of the locals were telling me that the track will change in three or four laps. We watched the track pretty closely. About five laps into the feature it went from good to dead slick. I figured if it’d go that way it’d be with five laps to go not five laps in. The longer the green flag run the better I could keep my momentum up, but the cautions hurt me and we had a few of those.”

Trenca scored a 15th-place result and a lot of notes for when he returns.

This week’s action began on Tuesday at Weedsport Speedway, where Trenca piloted a micro sprint for Mark Johnson. He advanced from sixth to third place in a heat race and was challenging for third in the main event when a broken chain ended the night early.

“It was a good time,” Trenca said. “It was cool to race something a little different than a sprint car. We were quick, but the chain broke. We were underneath third place at the time. It was a bummer to end like that, but the car has speed and I’m looking forward to running it a few more times later this year.”

Trenca, who was credited with a 15th-place finish, has a tripleheader on tap this weekend. He will compete on Thursday at Land of Legends Raceway in Canandaigua, N.Y., with the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints; on Friday at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pa.; and on Saturday at Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Pa., with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions.
