Inside Line Promotions – FREMONT, Ohio (May 23, 2019) – Mother Nature has kept Chris Andrews from completely gelling with his new Mackey Motorsports team. But in five starts he is happy with the progress the team is making, including another top-five run last weekend.

Andrews said the Ken and Duane Mackey owned team learned a lot while competing with the Kistler Racing Products/All Pro Heads Attica Fremont Championship Series over the weekend.

It began on Friday at Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio, where Andrews hung around the top five the entire feature, recording a fifth-place finish in only his fourth night with the team. He scored a runner-up finish at the track during his first night in the car a month ago.

“That was a really cool group of racers,” he said. “When you have Jac Haudenschild, Dale Blaney, Joey Saldana, to be competitive with that talent and experience, I’ll take a fifth-place finish.”

On Saturday the team traveled to nearby Fremont Speedway, where Andrews scored a 14th-place result on a challenging track surface.

“We were just way too tight,” he said. “These guys aren’t used to a tight track like Fremont. But they learned what I like in the car and I think we will be better this coming weekend. We just need more races together for them to get used to what I like the car to feel.”

The team plans to compete with the Ollie’s Bargain Outlet All Star Circuit of Champions this Friday at Attica Raceway Park and Sunday at Fremont Speedway.

“I’m not sure if we will race Saturday at Fremont with FAST, but I’m excited to see how we stack up against the All Stars,” Andrews said.
