Inside Line Promotions – PLYMOUTH, Wis. (June 9, 2021) – Greg Wilson is putting his best foot forward this week when his Hercules Tires, Ohio Logistics and DNC Hydraulics backed team tackles the 39th annual Cometic Gasket Ohio Sprint Speedweek presented by Hercules Tires.

“This week and the Kings Royal are my two favorite weeks of the year,” he said. “Also, it’s cool to have Hercules Tires as the presenting sponsor of Speedweek. It’s been neat to see their involvement in the sport grow as they have been a great partner of our race team for several years.”

Wilson will debut a new car during Ohio Sprint Speedweek, which begins on Friday at Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio. The remaining races are Saturday at Fremont Speedway in Fremont, Ohio; Monday at Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, Ohio; June 15 at Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio; June 16 at Waynesfield Raceway Park in Waynesfield, Ohio; June 17 at Muskingum County Speedway in Dresden, Ohio; June 18 at Limaland Motorsports Park in Lima, Ohio; and June 19 at Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio.

“A whole bunch of it is preparation,” he said. “The year that we won Speedweek in 2015 we were prepared, but things went our way, too. You have to put yourself in position to be decent every night and finish races. You hope the racing gods are on your side and you have some luck, too. It takes a little of everything to have success.

“Every night is its own battle. It’s highly competitive like all racing is right now. You’ll have a lot of outsiders. The key is to hopefully make the A Main every night and let the rest of it play out. If you can string some top-10 runs together the rest of it takes care of itself. You can’t get caught up in we’re going here and then going there. The first thought is tonight we need to time in well and then we think about making it out of our heat race.”

Wilson raced three times with the All Stars last weekend, posting a result of 15th on Thursday at Fairbury Speedway in Fairbury, Ill., before a crash ended his night early on Friday at Wilmot Raceway. Wilson drove for Alan Gilbertson on Saturday at Plymouth Dirt Track, where he overcame a DNF in a heat race to advance from 14th to third in the B Main and from 23rd to 19th in the A Main.

“I really appreciate Alan and his family for allowing me to run his car Saturday night,” he said. “They’ve become pretty good friends of ours. It was neat to get in something different to see if what I have been thinking all along about race cars is right or wrong. We had a pretty fast race car and it taught me a lot. We had a lot of fun and I think it helped both of us.”
