Inside Line Promotions – FREMONT, Ohio (Sept. 15, 2021) – Greg Wilson enjoyed one of his most productive weekends of the season in his home state of Ohio.

The Hercules Tires, Ohio Logistics and DNC Hydraulics sponsored driver guided Seeling Motorsports to a fourth-place finish on Friday at Attica Raceway Park in Attica before placing fifth on Saturday at Fremont Speedway.

“We actually timed good,” he said. “We’ve needed to work on qualifying and I felt like after Attica two weeks ago and what we did that Sunday we were headed down the right path. That showed last weekend. What Andy (Potter) and I have thought and what he’s doing is definitely the right way. We just have to keep fine-tuning.”

The weekend began on Friday with Wilson qualifying second quickest. He then finished where he started – third – in a heat race to lock himself into the 10th starting spot in the A Main.

“We positioned ourselves a lot better for a good finish,” he said. “Anywhere you go starting 10th and working through the field is not easy. I felt like we were a little better than even fourth, but we couldn’t get there the way the race played out. If we would have rolled off the front row they would have had a hell of a time catching us. I was pretty happy.”

Wilson’s fourth-place outing was his 10th top-five run of the season.

Things continued to roll on Saturday at Fremont Speedway, where Wilson set quick time in his group. A third-place finish in a heat race lined Wilson up on the inside of the fifth row for the main event.

“The track was a little choppy and a little wetter than you’d normally see Fremont,” he said. “It’s not something we’ve been particularly good at, but we were passing race cars. I don’t think we had a car to win or the driver did a good enough job to win, but I felt we could have run third. Third through sixth were in a group. The only way one of us was going to move forward or backward was if someone made a mistake. I felt like we could have easily ran third through sixth and we ended up fifth.”

Wilson plans on returning to Fremont Speedway this Saturday.

“We’re on the verge of being competitive for a win,” he said. “When you start smelling the victories, the fourths and fifths don’t sit as well. But after you think about where we were a couple of months ago and where we are now I’m pretty happy.”
