Wilson Ties Season-Best All Star Result During Finale at Fremont

Inside Line Promotions – FREMONT, Ohio (Oct. 11, 2021) – Greg Wilson wrapped up the racing season in his home state of Ohio last Saturday during the Jim & Joanne Ford Classic.

Fremont Speedway hosted the FloRacing All Star Circuit of Champions season-ending doubleheader, which lost Friday’s opener because of wet weather. Track and series officials worked diligently to get the program in on Saturday and Wilson made the most of it.

“For as much rain as they got, Fremont and the All Stars did a great job for giving us a track we could even race on,” he said. “I was really happy with how the whole night played out and that we rolled the car back into the trailer.”

The Hercules Tires, Ohio Logistics and DNC Hydraulics supported Seeling Motorsports driver went out late in qualifying and timed in 30th quickest overall, but his time ranked third in his group. It put Wilson on the outside of the front row of a heat race and he won it to transfer into a dash.

Wilson gained a position to place second in his dash. That lined him up on the outside of the second row in the A Main.

“Early in the race I felt we had a car capable of winning,” he said. “We rode in third for a little bit. Between the track conditions and trying to keep all four wheels on the ground the driver gave away a spot or two. Something changed part way through the race. Something seemed like it happened. We couldn’t go through the holes later in the race as well as we did earlier in the race. When it’s like that it’s hard to pinpoint whether the driver made a mistake or if we had something go wrong with the car.”

Wilson ended with a sixth-place showing, which tied his season-best run with the All Stars. It also marked his 26th top 10 of the season.

The team is unsure of its next event with the World Finals in North Carolina tabbed as the season finale.
