Inside Line Promotions – FREMONT, Ohio (Oct. 10, 2022) – Greg Wilson garnered his ninth top 10 of the season with the Tezos All Star Circuit of Champions on Saturday during the Jim and Joanne Ford Classic hosted by Fremont Speedway.

The Hercules Tires, Ohio Logistics and DNC Hydraulics sponsored driver guided the Seeling Motorsports No. 97 to the fourth quickest qualifying time overall before hustling from third to win a heat race. A fifth-place finish in a heat race lined Wilson up on the inside of the third row in the final All Star main event of the year.

“Saturday was pretty cool,” he said. “The only part that was frustrating was that the track got one lane and rubbered up. They did a good job with the track until the feature. Rubber down tracks don’t make for a lot of passing so that was frustrating.

“We fell back the first few laps. The track was starting to get some grip and I was trying to roll around the outside of some guys. Luckily we got back by (Craig) Mintz and by (Tyler) Courtney. We were hanging right there with the guys in front of us, but it was tough to pass.”

The sixth-place result was Wilson’s 23rd total top 10 of the season.

The weekend began with a rally on Friday after Wilson timed in 17th quickest and ended sixth in a heat race. He won a B Main to transfer into the feature, in which he charged from 21st to 11th.

“If you don’t get the qualifying down and you’re in a really good heat race, which happened to be the case Friday, you get behind early,” he said. “We battled back all night after that. We had a really good car in the feature so we were happy with the result. When you can pass that many good cars it’s a good night.

“It was a good weekend to move forward the way we did on Friday and then to come away with a sixth-place result on Saturday.”

Wilson ended the All Star season ranked 11th in the championship standings despite skipping numerous events.
